Cisco at OCP: The Rack Is the Line, and Silicon One Is the Hedge

Creative Strategies Atlas note | October 16, 2026 | Cisco analyst roundtable at the OCP Global Summit Cisco used OCP to show progress on systems, optics and open software, but the more useful part of our session was its architecture view. Cisco thinks the rack remains the natural edge of the scale-up domain for some time, and it is positioning Silicon One to win everywhere outside that edge, including inside NVIDIA's own reference designs. Operating view: Our current theory is that Cisco is making a defensible near-term bet and a risky long-term one.
