Credo's Active LED Cable: Taking the AEC Playbook Past the Reach of Copper
Ben Bajarin · October 16, 2026
Creative Strategies Atlas note | October 16, 2026 | Credo's public product demonstration on the OCP Global Summit show floor Credo built its AI business on the copper links that sit inside and next to the rack. The demonstration we saw this week shows how it intends to follow those links as copper runs out of reach, first with a multimode optical cable for scale-out and later with near-packaged optics and an optical backplane. Operating view: Our current theory is that the ALC gives Credo a credible path from a copper pool our model sizes at about $13 billion in 2030 into short-reach optics, a pool roughly five times larger.
